Mrs. Mathews' Charles Place Borup listed and Mr. Chester and Blodgett of Houston with 70 specks and Fisherman's Wharf advised that the N. F. Ozburns each killed duck limits and the Jack Burrus party of Dallas had three limits.
Floundering parties continued to have good luck around the chan. nels at Port Aransas and the best haul was 27 caught by the Benny Hayes party. C. W. Cummings had 10 flounder, L.
R. Morley had a five- and there were other catches to match. Bay fishing around Corpus Chris. ti paid off in trout and redfish for some lure fishermen and pier anglers were still getting some drums, reds and trout. Rockport anglers had about the same to show for their sunburn and around at Aransas Pass things were still going fairly strong with trout and reds hitting in the channels just outside the basin.
James Brothers' Bait Stand at the Nueces Bay Causeway said some of the fishermen managed good strings of trout and the bait situation wasn't bad. The Holiday Club in Aransas Pass reported these large catches of trout: M. M. Pace, Oklahoma, 60; Nelson Wray and Joe Atwell. 64: N.

It was decided since only a couple of birds were needed to make the limit we would let them make themselves right at home and swim around among the decoys.
in hopes they would entice some of the more cagey pintails down within shooting range. But after about five minutes of sitting and watching, the game grew tiring so we decided to scare them That's when the game grew confusing Evidently those two birds hadn't been clued in on the facts about this hunting game. When we jumped up, they completely ignored us. That's not all, we hollered, led the brush on the side of the blind, threw empty shells at them and finally had to fire a shot in the air to scare them off. Man, they must have been aching for company.
Oh yeah, we only killed one of them after all that trouble. Fishing action in Laguna Madre at the Intracoastal Canal was evenly divided between night and day fishing--both were paying off. F. S. Gunn, A.
D. Greer and J. L. Greer of Alice stuck around long enough during the night to bag 128 trout, then came back during the day and hauled in 18 before calling it quits. B.
A. Matula and party of Sinton fished most of the night and carried out 100 trout, eight flounder and 12 reds. An example of the daytime action also showed L. P. Cooke and Rev.
S. L. Batchelor of Kerrville with 50 trout. Warren Hudson and George Laurel made a good haul of trout and reds after bagging eight ducks earlier. All were registered at Red Dot Bait Stand.

CIGAR N. CORPUS CHRISTI CALLER, Nov, 17, 1954 156 KANSAS CITY MANAGER MAY BE NAMED TODAY KANSAS CITY. Nov. 16 Arnold Johnson. Chicago millionaire and owner of the new Kansas City Athletics, is expected to name his field manager at a news conference tomorrow.
Johnson hasn't tipped his hand so far, but there's much speculation that the man tabbed for the delicate assignment of revamping the chronically tail-end A's will be Lou Boudreau. Boudreau got the boot as skipper of Boston's Red Sox this year. and Johnson--who acquired the Philadelphia A's francise only last week--has admitted Lou has been under consideration. But Johnson said some other candidates have been considered, and he's refused to rule out Eddie Joost, who managed the A's during their dismal last stand in Philadelphia during the past season. Today Johnson and his newly-named business manager.
Parke Carroll, huddled with Kansas City officials over the rush plans to transform the old Blues Stadium into a modern major league ball park by next April. The session was held in the skyscraper office of City Manager L. P. Cookingham. Afterward, the conferees said everyone was satisfied with the blueprints and time schedule for expanding the stadium from 16,000 to 36,000 seats.
